The City of Casa is pleased to announce that the Arkansas State Aid Street Committee has approved its request for a project to overlay several of the streets in Casa. The project was submitted to the State earlier this year and was awarded last month.
The project is approved for up to $233,160.00 in expenditures to resurface Fourche Street, Main Street, Maple Street, Broadway Avenue, Coates Road, Cherry Street and Tower Road. The Arkansas Department of Transportation will be overseeing the construction contract which is expected to begin something in the spring or early summer of 2022.
“We’re happy to see the state investing in our smaller communities. I, the City Council and many of the residents of Casa have been working very hard to restore our small community back to the safe, secure and family friendly place it once was. Well maintained roads are a part of the plan we are working on. “Said, Mayor Loyra Rainey.
Work has already begun in preparation for the state crews to come in. Tree trimming workers have been clearing hazards along the streets to ensure the equipment needed to surface the streets can work without interference.
